Adult class features a warm-up consisting of stretching, calistentics and the fundamental movements of Capoeira. Warm-up is done together for all levels, after which the class is organized by cord level/ability for sequences, partner work and more.

Basics

Our training involves a variety of attacks and defenses, from the ground and standing. The end of class usually has a "roda" (Portuguese for circle) where students can try their skills against each other.

Culture

All movements and named in Portuguese and our roda is conducted with live music (also sung in Portuguese). With time, students begin to pick up basic Portuguese (directional words, etc) and our oldest students are almost all fluent in Portuguese.
